All monsters on HymnRO are scaled up from official, on a curve tied to monster level:
HP: +0.2% per monster level
Attack: +0.1% per monster level
2.5% on total purchases of 1mil zeny or more. Buyer always pays full sticker price. Vendor receives their proceeds minus tax.
e.g. Buyer purchases item for 1,000,000 zeny. Vendor will receive 975,000z. Anything under 1,000,000z is untaxed.
The threshold is on the whole purchase transaction, not per item: two items at 600k and 500k bought in one click are taxed on the 1.1M total; bought separately, both are untaxed.
Currently players cannot form a party with their alts. This is an intentional design, but is still under review.
Yes. All monsters have a low chance to drop a costume. See Costume Mob Drop
Players earn zeny for every monster killed. Normal monsters level 50 and above give a maximum of 100 zeny per kill.
When several players damage the same monster, each one is paid according to their share of the damage, so no single player receives the full amount. Note that the shares add up to more than the monster's value (with 12 or more attackers the total paid out is roughly 3.7Γ) because the server gives a bonus for each extra attacker.
Normal monsters below level 50:
zeny = monster level + a random number from 0 up to (level β 1)
The payout lands between the monster's level and double its level minus 1, averaging about 1.5 Γ level. A level 20 monster pays 20β39, averaging 29.5.
Normal monsters level 50 and above:
Same roll as above, then trimmed down to 100 if it came out higher. (In practice level 50 itself is never trimmed, because its highest possible roll is 99 - the cap starts to bite from level 51 and always applies from level 97 up.)
Boss monsters (MVPs):
zeny = (the rolled amount, capped at 100 if level 50+) Γ a random number from 0 to 249
The multiplier averages 124.5, so a high-level MVP now pays about 12,400 on average, up to a maximum of 24,900. One quirk that predates this change: because the multiplier can roll 0, roughly 1 MVP kill in 250 pays no zeny at all.
Note: boss-type monsters that aren't flagged as MVP - including most Biosphere minibosses - are treated as normal monsters and are capped at 100.
Endgame monsters are balanced around 4th-job defences: Res (from STA) cuts physical damage and MRes (from WIS) cuts magic damage. Homunculi don't have trait stats, so they had zero Res and MRes with no way to get any. That's why they were getting deleted in endgame content.
To fix this, Homunculus S now gets:
+200 Res and +200 MRes: about 27% less physical and magic damage taken
+40% Max HP
For comparison, a 4th-job character with 100 STA has 265 Res (about 32% reduction), so your homunculus is still below a moderately built player. It uses the same resistance formula as everyone else; it just starts with some instead of none. Regular and evolved homunculi are unchanged.
Alchemist crafting and cooking yields 4 products per success instead of 1.
Note that the success rate itself is unchanged.
Players who livestream can receive 100 Cash Points per stream per day (minimum 1 hour required).
To submit your stream:
Staff will review and approve streamer submissions every 1-2 weeks. You will be required to log in-game and meet with an Admin on the character that you played on while streaming to verify who you are before you can receive your reward.
We are looking for players to help with video guides for custom server features (and later, some non-custom features) and wiki articles which will be shared under our Community Guides.
Please talk to us on Discord before you start making anything. We need to agree on format, topic, etc. first. Both video and articles will be reviewed before posting.
Each accepted submission will be rewarded in-game with currency / items (TBD).
