Ghost Palace is a story-driven instance that reveals the tragic tale of the Cursed Royal Guard Sakray and Princess Tiara. Players journey through a haunted palace to uncover the truth behind a curse that has bound souls for eternity. The instance rewards Gray Shards which can be exchanged for powerful Gray equipment and Thanatos weapons.

Overview

The Ghost Palace was once a grand royal residence, but a terrible tragedy turned it into a realm of restless spirits. The Royal Guard Sakray, bound to the cursed Magic Sword Tartanos, was forced to commit unspeakable acts against those he swore to protect.

Players witness the fall of the palace through five floors of memories, fighting through waves of cursed soldiers while uncovering the conspiracy that led to the kingdom's destruction. The story involves betrayal, forbidden love, and a curse that spans generations.

How to Access

Travel to Dimensional Gap 2F (dali02).
Find the Unpleasant Royal Guard at coordinates (43, 129).
As party leader, speak to him and agree to help save the princess.
The instance will be created - use the Interdimensional Device at (40, 134) to enter.

Instance Walkthrough

Floor 1: The Beginning

Upon entering, witness a scene between the King and Lurid Royal Guard.
The King appoints the Royal Guard as Princess Tiara's personal protector.
News arrives of monsters in the castle!
Cursed Soldiers begin spawning - defeat them to proceed.
Clear all waves to unlock the warp to Floor 2.

Floor 2: Princess Tiara

Meet Princess Tiara and the Lurid Royal Guard.
Witness their interaction and the growing bond between them.
More Cursed Soldiers attack - defend the princess!
Clear the floor to proceed to Floor 3.

Floor 3: The Conspiracy

The King addresses his soldiers and the Captain of the Guard.
Dark forces are revealed to be at work in the palace.
Magic Sword Tartanos makes its first appearance.
A massive wave of soldiers attacks - this floor has the most enemies.
Defeat them all to proceed.

Floor 4: The Fall

Witness the tragic climax of the story.
The Visiting Prince arrives for the arranged marriage.
The curse of Tartanos takes hold.
Bodies of the King, Captain, and Soldiers litter the floor.
The true horror of what occurred is revealed.

Floor 5: Sakray's Truth

Confront Sakray and Magic Sword Tartanos.
Learn the full truth of the curse:

"I wanted to get rid of a piece of humanity inside of me through you. I am quite satisfied with the result."

Sakray speaks of the burden of his curse:

"If you were me, what would you do? Can you set yourself free from this curse?"

After the conversation, Sakray and Tartanos vanish.
Ghostly voices of Princess Tiara and Sakray can be heard.
The exit opens and you can speak to the King's Ghost for rewards.

The Ghost Palace tells one of the more tragic tales in Ragnarok:

Sakray was a loyal Royal Guard who fell in love with Princess Tiara
The Magic Sword Tartanos cursed Sakray, binding his soul to the blade
Under the curse's influence, terrible acts were committed in the palace
The King, soldiers, and eventually everyone perished
Sakray and Tiara's spirits remain bound to the palace for eternity

Tips

Bring AoE skills - Waves of Cursed Soldiers spawn throughout the instance.
Watch the story - The cutscenes provide important context for the rewards and lore.
Farm Gray Shards - Run daily to accumulate shards for Thanatos weapons.
Party recommended - While soloable at higher levels, parties clear faster.
Don't rush the final floor - The dialogue with Sakray is important for understanding the curse.
200 shards for weapons - Plan for approximately 100 runs to obtain a Thanatos weapon.
