    Pets are loyal companions that follow you on your adventures and provide powerful bonuses. In HymnRO, the Pet System has been enhanced with auto-feed support, evolution paths, and a wide variety of pets with unique abilities.

    Overview

    Pets provide:

    • Stat bonuses based on intimacy level
    • Visual companionship as they follow you around
    • Pet evolution to stronger forms with better bonuses
    • Auto-feed functionality for convenience

    Getting a Pet

    Taming

    To capture a pet:

    1. Obtain the appropriate Taming Item for the monster you want to tame
    2. Find the monster in the wild
    3. Use the Taming Item on the monster
    4. If successful, you receive a Pet Egg

    ℹī¸ Note: Capture chance increases as the monster's HP decreases. Attacking a monster to low HP before using the taming item improves your odds.

    Capture Rate Formula

    Base Rate + (100 - Monster HP%) × Base Rate / 100

    Example: A pet with 20% base capture rate at 50% monster HP:

    • 20% + (100 - 50) × 20% / 100 = 20% + 10% = 30% chance

    💡 Tip: Reduce the monster's HP as low as possible without killing it for the best capture chance!

    Managing Your Pet

    Hatching

    Use your Pet Egg from your inventory to hatch your pet. Your pet will appear beside you.

    Pet Equipment

    Many pets have special accessories that can be equipped to enable their skills and bonuses.

    ❗ Important: Some pet bonuses require the pet's equipment to be equipped. Check the individual pet's requirements.

    Feeding

    Pets get hungry over time and must be fed to maintain intimacy:

    • Each pet has a specific Food Item it prefers
    • Auto-Feed is available for all pets — enable it in your pet window
    • Feeding interval: Every 120 seconds at default hunger rate (modified to 200% on HymnRO = slower hunger)

    Intimacy

    Intimacy determines your pet's effectiveness:

    Awkward 0 - 99 Minimal bonuses
    Shy 100 - 249 Slight bonuses
    Neutral 250 - 749 Moderate bonuses
    Cordial 750 - 899 Good bonuses
    Loyal 900 - 1000 Maximum bonuses

    You can rename your pet at any time through the Pet window.

    • Start with Poring — Easy to capture, can evolve all the way to Angeling
    • Enable Auto-Feed — Never let your pet go hungry
    • Keep pet equipment — Many bonuses only activate with equipment
