Episode 21: Age of Heroes takes players on an unprecedented journey through time to the founding era of Rune-Midgarts. When a dimensional rift opens at Scale Island, Nyar reveals the opportunity to travel to the past and alter the moment Lasgand first gained his power. This epic episode features seven noble family reputation systems, time travel mechanics, and culminates in the Final Battle instance.

Overview

Following the defeat of Bagot in Episode 20, an unusual mana wavelength is detected emanating from Scale Island. The investigation team, including Nyar, discovers a dimensional rift that connects to the distant pastβ€”specifically, to the time when Lasgand first inherited his power during the founding of Rune-Midgarts.

Nyar reveals this could be an opportunity to permanently stop Lasgand by altering history itself. Players travel through the rift to an era when the Jormungandr Cult threatens the emerging kingdoms, and seven noble families lead the resistance: Gaebolg, Nerius, Heine, Lugenburg, Walter, Wigner, and Richard.

Posing as volunteers from the future, players must navigate the complex politics of the past, earn the trust of the noble families, and ultimately confront the source of Lasgand's immortality.

Main Quest

Part 1: The Rift Discovery (Steps 1-4)

Requirements: Level 230+, Episode 20 complete

  1. Speak to Shufapa at Scale Island (jor_tail 233, 41).
  2. He reports an unusual mana wavelength coming from the island.
  3. Select "I'll join you!" to begin the investigation.
  4. Travel to the investigation spot (jor_crk 137, 137).
  5. Nillen and Lehar detect the strange wavelength.
  6. Lehar spots Nyar on the island - go speak with her.
  7. Find Nyar at (jor_crk 107, 112).
"A rift has opened. The dimensional boundaries between time and parallel dimensions are collapsing. But this could be an opportunity. This rift leads to the pastβ€”to the point where Lasgand first gained his power. If we can alter that moment, we might stop him permanently."

  1. Follow Nyar through the rift.
  2. You arrive in the past at (jor_crk_p 108, 106).

Part 2: Arrival in the Past (Steps 5-10)

  1. Nillen realizes you've arrived during the Rune-Midgarts founding era.
  2. Lehar suggests approaching the locals as resistance volunteers.
  3. Meet the stranger Ivan at (jor_crk_p 104, 95).
  4. Explain you're adventurers fighting against the Jormungandr Cult.
  5. Ivan introduces himself as a member of the Wigner family.
  6. Follow Ivan to the resistance base, Lunaphoma (luna_sf1 258, 147).
  7. Enter the resistance headquarters at jor_mbase.

Part 3: Lunaphoma and the Resistance (Steps 7-10)

  1. At the base, a Resistance Soldier greets you (jor_mbase 38, 152).
  2. While waiting, you overhear a conflict...
"The fight against the cult is being led only in the name of Odin! What about us, the people of Freya?"

  1. The Freya followers leave unhappily - internal strife troubles the resistance.
  2. Get introduced to the resistance captains.
  3. Meet Tan (jor_mbase 40, 155) who will take you to the Richard Mercenary Group.

Part 4: The Seven Families (Steps 11-100)

Throughout the questline, you must earn the trust of all seven noble families:

  • Discovering the cult's connection to Lasgand's power source

Part 6: The Time Loop Revelation (Steps 180-200)

As the story progresses, players discover a shocking truthβ€”they are caught in a time loop. The events they're experiencing have happened before, and their actions in the past are what originally created the conditions for Lasgand's rise to power.

This revelation forces players to make difficult choices about how to break the cycle and truly defeat Lasgand once and for all.

Part 7: Final Battle (Steps 200-218)

  1. Complete all prerequisite quests.
  2. Travel to vdistrict1 and speak to Ilze (32, 33).
  3. Enter the Final Battle instance.
  4. Defeat Encroaching Tan to complete the episode.

ℹ️ Note: The Final Battle instance requires Level 250+ and has daily attempt limits.

Boss Mechanics

Phase 1: Add Waves

Phase 2: Transformation

  • After adds are cleared, boss transforms
  • Damage reduction is removed
  • Boss changes appearance and becomes vulnerable
  • Continue attacking until defeated

Hard Mode Special:

  • Four corner pillars spawn additional Jormungandr Phantoms
  • Pillars must be managed while fighting the boss

Tips

  • Level requirement increases - Main quest requires level 230+, but Final Battle requires level 250+.
  • Daily attempts - You have 10 Final Battle attempts per day. These reset daily, not on cooldown.
  • Mode selection matters - Hard mode has 99% damage reduction until you clear all add waves. Bring strong AoE.
  • Manage pillars in Hard - Four corner pillars continuously spawn adds. Focus them when they appear.
  • Party size - Maximum party size is 12 players for Final Battle.
  • Save cooldowns - After completing Final Battle, there's a 3-day cooldown.
  • Family reputation - Balance gains across all seven families for the best rewards.
  • Pay attention to the time loop - The story reveals important information about altering fate.
