Account & Registration

What are Master Accounts and Game Accounts?

Master Account

Your main account created on the website
Used to log into the patcher
You may only have one Master Account

Game Account

Character accounts linked to your Master Account
Upon registering a Master Account, a Game Account is automatically created for you
You can create multiple Game Accounts under one Master Account
Each Game Account has its own username and can hold multiple characters
Select which Game Account to play from the patcher
Multi-clienting is allowed
You can rename and delete your Game Accounts — deleted accounts have a 7-day grace period before permanent deletion

⚠️ Warning: We cannot restore deleted Game Accounts after the 7-day grace period.

ℹ️ Note: You cannot manage Game Accounts while logged in-game.

Can I share my account?

Account sharing is not prohibited, but not advised.

You take full responsibility for any risks (lost items, stolen account, bans from actions taken by others)
We cannot recover accounts or items lost due to account sharing

How do I recover my password?

Visit the login page on our website and follow the instructions.

Technical & Installation

I just downloaded the game. Why won't it open?

Run the HymnRO Patcher
Click on SETUP and choose a resolution
Log in to the patcher using your Master Account details (email and password)
Select your desired Game Account and press Start Game (double-click works too!)

Why am I asked to install .NET 8 Desktop Runtime?

Our patcher is built using Microsoft's .NET technology
.NET 8 Runtime is required to run the patcher — think of it like installing DirectX for games
It's a safe, official Microsoft download
You only need to install it once
If you already have it installed, you won't be prompted again

"Windows protected your PC" appears when I launch the patcher

Click "More info" then "Run anyway"
This appears because our patcher is new and not widely distributed yet — it's safe!

Can I play on Mac or Linux?

Currently, the HymnRO Patcher is Windows-only due to its WebView2 dependency.

Linux compatibility is being considered for future development.

Gameplay

Is multi-clienting allowed?

Yes! Our patcher supports launching multiple clients. You can run as many clients as you have Game Accounts.

Party-specific content may have reasonable limitations to encourage real multiplayer interaction.

Are bots or macros allowed?

No, bots and automation macros are not allowed.

However, we do provide built-in quality-of-life features:

Turbo (attack speed assist)
Smart Cast
Smart Keys

Where is the Job Changer / Reset NPC / Card Remover?

All convenience NPCs are located in our Main Office called Heaven.

Access it with: @go main or @go 15

Donations & Economy

Is this server free to play?

Yes! HymnRO is completely free to play.

Donations are entirely voluntary and help support server costs. We are committed to avoiding pay-to-win mechanics.

How do donations work?

Visit the donation page on our website for information on how to support the server.

Can I trade donation items?

Yes, donation items are tradeable unless stated otherwise on the specific item.

How do I report a bug or player?

Open a support ticket in our Discord server using the ticket system.

How do I contact a GM?

In-game: Use the @request command to send a message to online GMs
Discord: Open a support ticket for non-urgent matters

Can GMs recover lost or deleted items?

This is handled on a case-by-case basis. Please open a support ticket on Discord and provide as much detail as possible. Recovery is not guaranteed.

What makes HymnRO different?

🎯 Server Vision

HymnRO is designed to encourage party play while maintaining flexibility for solo players. Classes like Arch Bishops should feel valuable in content again.

⚖️ Game Balance Philosophy

We're not against change — we're against bad change. Rebalancing overpowered skills or overlooked mechanics is on the table if it helps create a more engaging and varied game environment.

🗺️ Instance & Map Design

We plan to unlock a wide range of content, including older instances that are often forgotten. The goal is to have many viable farming maps, not just a handful. Daily and weekly quest systems will support players with limited time.

👥 Party Play vs Dual Clients

To support real party interactions and cooperative play, systems like individual loot rolls are being considered. Dual-clienting is allowed but may come with reasonable limitations in party-specific content.

💰 Economy & Zeny Flow

Zeny farming through vending will be carefully balanced. The focus will shift back to market-based trading, meaningful drops, MVP rewards, and rare item acquisition. Diversity in how players earn zeny is key.

👗 Costume Economy

Costumes should feel personal and rewarding. If a costume is labeled rare or exclusive, it should remain valuable. Any reintroduction of old costumes will be handled with care — respecting the original effort required to obtain them.

Where is the server hosted?

Our server is hosted in Germany, providing stable connections for players in Europe and reasonable latency for other regions.
