Episode 17.1: Illusion continues the story from Episode 16.2 as you work with the Rebellion and Schwaltzvalt government to investigate secret Enterprise laboratories. The conspiracy deepens as you uncover the truth behind the Heart Hunters and their connection to the mysterious organization known as Illusion.

Overview

Following the recovery of the Terra Gloria, Nihil Heine reveals he's next in line for the throne of Rune-Midgarts. Meanwhile, Philopontess (Tes) has analyzed data from the Heart Hunter War Base and discovered more secret facilities. Working with Elena Volkova and the Rebellion, you'll investigate these locations and uncover the origins of the Heart Hunters.

The episode introduces Kaya Tos, a Rekenber Division vice president who joins your investigation, and reveals the connection between the Heart Hunters and their leader Schlein.

Part 1: New Operations Base

Starting Location: Einbech (einbech 219, 80)

After Episode 16.2 completion, Nihil M. Heine appears in your guestroom (prt_cas_q).
He explains he's next in line for the throne and thanks you for your help.
- "It appears I'm next in line to the throne. This is not what I wanted."
Travel to Einbech and speak with Rebellion Crew (einbech 219, 80).
Learn about the new Rebellion base: Cat on Bullet bar.

Part 2: Cat on Bullet

Travel to Cat on Bullet (pub_cat) in Einbroch.
Speak with Philopontess (Tes) (pub_cat 93, 105).
Tes explains:
- Data from the Heart Hunter War Base has been analyzed
- More secret laboratory facilities have been discovered
- Elena Volkova is organizing recon teams
Elena Volkova arrives with updates on investigation areas.
Learn about Rudus - an abandoned smelting plant hiding secret facilities.

Part 3: Rudus Investigation

Travel to Rudus (ein_fild05 158, 284).
Meet Rebellion Crew at the abandoned mine area (ein_fild03 278, 269).
Investigate the area:
- The mine entrance is blocked by wire mesh
- Suspicious movements detected inside
- Scout the nearby area for an entrance
Find and enter the hidden facility.
- Instance: Sealed OS
- Party required

Part 4: The Heart Hunter Connection

Return to Cat on Bullet and report to Tes.
Enter the back room to meet with key figures:
- Kaya Tos - Rekenber Division Vice President
- Aas - Senior Rekenber Security Officer
- Commander Est - Schwaltzvalt military
Learn about the Heart Hunters:
- Led by Schlein, former chief security officer
- Betrayed Rekenber and seized Regenschirm Laboratory
- Guards who followed Schlein took new uniforms and became Heart Hunters
- "He asked me if I wanted to become stronger. If I accepted his offer, I would become a Heart Hunter too."

Part 5: Patrick Kaufmann Investigation

Lazy proposes investigating missing scientists.
Kaya randomly selects Patrick Kaufmann ("Pat") from the list.
Travel to Lighthalzen slums to trace Pat's history:
- Pat was a talented repairman from a low-income family
- Received special award at age 21
- Transferred to another Rekenber facility, then disappeared
Follow Pat's trail through various locations.
- Quest Received: Together with Lazy
- Rewards: 600,000 Base EXP, 600,000 Job EXP

Part 6: Regenschirm Recapture

Return to Cat on Bullet after investigation.
Meet with Est and plan the Regenschirm recapture operation.
Travel to Lighthalzen (lighthalzen 56, 270) for the operation.
Assault the Regenschirm Laboratory with Rebellion and Schwaltzvalt forces.
- Fight through Heart Hunter guards
- Encounter Schlein's forces
- Rewards: 800,000 Base EXP, 800,000 Job EXP

Part 7: The Illusion Organization

After the Regenschirm operation, new information surfaces.
Learn about Illusion:
- A secret organization formed by former Regenschirm members
- Created after discovering a mysterious mansion
- Monopolizes knowledge and research from the mansion
- Connected to Heart Hunters
Meet Elena Volkova at the Cor facility.
- New area discovered requiring investigation
- Quest Received: Innocent Menace storyline

Part 8: Innocent Menace

Travel to Cor (sp_cor) to meet Elena Volkova.
A researcher named Elyumina is causing explosions and attacks.
Join Elena's elite squad to capture Elyumina:
- "For this operation, we've only picked the soldiers who are strong enough to fend for themselves."
- Solo party required (party of 1)
Enter the Cor Memorial instance.
- Chase and capture Elyumina
- Uncover more secrets about Illusion and Heart Hunters
