Buwaya Cave is a Philippine mythology-themed instance set in the lair of Buwaya, a giant man-eating crocodile monster. Players must hunt down this beast that has been kidnapping villagers from Port Malaya. The instance is part of the "Secret in the Woods" quest chain.

Overview

Villagers have been disappearing from Port Malaya, and after investigating the tracks, the guards discovered that the giant monster Buwaya is responsible. Soldiers and mercenaries have been dispatched but none have been completely successful. Now adventurers are called upon to enter Buwaya's cave and end the threat permanently.

The instance features unique mechanics including a "treasure box" trap and discovering Buwaya's weakness through rescued captives.

How to Access

Travel to Malaya Field (ma_fild02).
Find the Guard at coordinates (312, 317).
As party leader, ask about the dangerous area and offer to hunt Buwaya.
Enter through the Cave Entrance at (315, 323).

Instance Walkthrough

Phase 1: Entering the Cave

The cave is Buwaya's lair where he stores his victims.
Navigate through the dark tunnels.
Watch for traps and monster spawns.

Phase 2: The Treasure Box Trap

Buwaya has a special mechanic:

"I will put you in my treasure box!"

Periodically, Buwaya attempts to trap players in his "treasure box."
Visual effects warn you when this is about to happen.
If caught, you'll be teleported to a holding area.
Destroy Buwaya's Weakness objects (ID: 2333) to escape.

Phase 3: Rescuing Captives

Find Kidnapped Residents trapped in the cave.
Speaking to them provides valuable buffs:
- +45 ATK for 60 seconds
- +45 MATK for 60 seconds
They also reveal Buwaya's weakness - target the walls behind them!

Phase 4: Boss Battle - Buwaya

Buwaya is a powerful crocodile MVP.
He uses powerful physical attacks and the treasure box mechanic.
The battle intensifies as his HP drops:

"I had enough with this, let's go till the end!"

Completion

After defeating Buwaya:

The villagers are saved.
Collect drops from the MVP.
Exit the cave.

Buwaya comes from Filipino folklore:

"Buwaya" is the Tagalog word for crocodile
In folklore, giant crocodiles were feared man-eaters

Tips

Talk to captives first - The ATK/MATK buffs help significantly.
